When it comes to skincare, people are willing to try anything that promises to improve the health and appearance of their skin. One such popular treatment is the Vampire facial.

Yes, you heard that right – a Vampire facial. It may sound scary, but it’s a lot less intimidating than it sounds. Here’s what you need to know about the Vampire facial and how it can help improve your skin’s health.

What is the Vampire Facial?

The Vampire facial, also known as a Platelet Rich Plasma Facial, is a non-surgical facial treatment that uses your body’s natural healing cells and growth factors to promote collagen and elastin production, leading to smoother, brighter, and younger-looking skin.

The treatment involves drawing a small amount of blood from your arm, which is then processed in a centrifuge to extract the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and classically it is injected into the skin using tiny needles.

The process sounds possibly painful, but in reality, is reasonably comfortable, and it helps rejuvenate the skin without using any chemicals.

Combination treatments are ideal and a modified classic vampire facial is easily done after a Microneedling treatment, where the PRP – platelet risk plasma, is applied and soaked into the microchannels created by the Microneedling procedure.

Microneedling RF laser procedures are frequently combined with PRP treatments and Potenza is a best in class as it has a unique fusion tip that helps drive the PRP deeper into the skin, where it can significantly have a much bigger impact.

Please watch the video below to illustrate how unique and effective this treatment can be!

How Does It Work?

Platelets contain a high concentration of growth factors that stimulate collagen and elastin production, essential for healthy, young-looking skin.

The practitioner injects the PRP into the skin using either using small needles or in combination with microneedling or a laser procedure, enhancing the production of collagen and elastin, which will help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, and create a more youthful appearance overall.

The treatment also increases skin cell renewal, which can help reduce scarring, hyperpigmentation, and other signs of aging.

How Does a Vampire Facial Feel?

While the idea of a Vampire facial may sound intimidating, the procedure is relatively straightforward.

The practitioner draws your blood, processes it in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, and injects it directly into your skin using micro-needles. You may feel mild discomfort during the procedure , but in general it is very well-tolerated by almost all clients.

When used during microneedling the PRP is applied to the skin and used as a gliding medium while the needles from the Collagen PIN or a similar device drive it into the skin. Similarly, it is applied to the skin and the fusion tip of the RF Microneedling laser is applied over the area driving the PRP into the dermal and subdermal areas.

The PRP stimulates the cells called fibroblasts, increasing their production of collagen and secretion of hyaluronic acid and it can help improve skin texture, color homogeneity, firmness and elasticity, skin thickness, it can reduce solar elastosis, decrease wrinkles, severity of nasolabial folds, acne scars, erythema and melanin, and significantly increase patient satisfaction with their appearance.

Depending on the treated area, the treatment process usually takes 30-60 minutes.

Topical Numbing is usually used, especially with combination treatments like Collagen PIN or the Potenza Microneedling RF laser.

What are the Advantages?

One of the most significant advantages of the Vampire facial is that it is a natural treatment that uses the body’s own healing properties to rejuvenate the skin.

Unlike other facial treatments that can result in adverse reactions, the Vampire facial uses your body’s plasma, which reduces the risk of an allergic reaction.

The treatment is also highly customizable, as the practitioner can adjust the concentration of the PRP based on your skin’s individual needs.

Is the Vampire Facial Right for Me?

If you’re looking for a non-invasive, natural way to improve your skin’s health and appearance, you may want to consider getting a Vampire facial.

The Vampire Facial is not recommended for anyone with:

  • any condition that may affect their blood platelets,
  • a health condition that predisposed them to excess bleeding,
  • an active infection of the area that is being treated or in close proximity
  • anyone with a fever
  • a deficiency of the immune system that predisposes them to getting infections.

The treatments typically cost from $450 to $1500 and you may need multiple treatments, but the results last 1 year or more.

While it may sound a little off-putting, the treatment is straightforward and offers numerous benefits, with very high customer satisfaction.

As with any medical procedure, it’s essential to consult a qualified practitioner before getting a Vampire facial to ensure it’s the correct treatment.

With the right practitioner, you can enjoy more youthful, radiant, and healthy-looking skin with the power of your blood!
